CANDLE CARE
Proper care of your candle is not only important to ensure your candle burns safely but will also allow you to get the best performance from your candle. That is why we include a care card with every candle purchase. If you misplace this then don't worry as you can also find our tips below.
Tips to get the most from our candles
-
The first burn should be long enough to allow the melted wax to extend towards the edges of the container, up to a maximum of 4 hours. Burning your candle for too short a time, particularly for the first few burns, can lead to tunnelling. However don't worry if the melt pool doesn't completely reach the sides of the vessel during the first few burns - our tins in particular have been designed not to do this too early.
-
Trim your wick after every burn: It is important to keep wicks short (0.5 cm). This will reduce any ‘mushrooming’ or carbon build up, which can lead to soot, and will also ensure a good flame size. Trim after every burn, once completely cool. Wick trimmers, scissors or even a pinch with your fingers will all work well with our wicks.
-
Never burn any candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
-
Extinguish your candle when there is still at least 1.5 cm of wax left at the bottom of the container to avoid overheating of the container.
-
Keep away from children and pets. Place on a firm, suitable, heat proof surface, away from drafts and overhanging materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Take care when extinguishing to avoid blowing melted wax. With scented candles, ensure that pets are able to leave the room if they want to.

Store in a dry place out of direct sunlight, avoid extreme variations in temperature and for optimal performance use within 6 months of purchase.
